We firmly support public awareness of the harms of smoking cigarettes, but the manner in which those messages are delivered to the public cannot run afoul of the First Amendment protections that apply to all speakers, including cigarette manufacturers, Kaelan Hollon, a spokesperson for Reynolds American Inc., said in the emailed statement

NASEM found conclusive evidence that switching from combustible to vaporized sources of nicotine reduces exposure to harmful toxicants and substantial evidence that switching entirely from smoking to vaping results in reduced short-term adverse health outcomes in several organ systems.
