To gather relevant publications, we searched several databases such as PubMed, EBSCO, Cochrane, and Science Direct, using specific MESH terms and keywords such as cigarette smoking, air pollution, particulate matter, gaseous air pollutants, cardiovascular diseases, and hypertension.
